This Praying For Descendants Prayer Journal is free for anyone who wishes to make it a part of their prayer life. On the front of my prayer journal, pictured on the left, I inserted a picture of my grandchildren surrounding an ear (Click on the ear to see an enlarged picture). The picture of the ear has to do with the verse found in Psalm 77: 1. I cried out to God with my voice, and He gave ear to me. The other verse I use on my prayer journal cover is Luke 11: 9 - 10. It is the one about asking, seeking, and knocking. In the picture Ian has found the balls. Hannah is asking for more to drink. And Sophia is knocking. By the way, the ear, symbolizing God's ear, belongs to my husband. I would like to share with you how I put my prayer journal together. The Praying for Descendants Prayer Journal consists of 29 pages. Two of these pages are blank except for the page numbers. This was done to facilitate the layout of the prayer journal, because two sections, An Exercise In Faith and World Over- population A Myth? are best viewed side by side. The first blank page #4 should be located on the left side of the Journal with the CONTENTS page on the right. I used a 1/2 inch, 3 ring view binder with non-glare page protector sleeves. This works very well. |
I want to explain how I use my prayer journal. It might seem daunting to think that
to use the Praying For Descendants Prayer Journal you must read all 29 pages
each time you pray for your descendants. The prayer journal contains 11 sections,
but for prayer I use only the Prayers For The Generations section, pages 10-15.
Depending on how much time I can set aside for this activity, I at times, will pray the
headings and all the scriptures, the headings and a few of the scriptures, or even just
the headings if my praying time is very limited. I believe that the Lord is faithful to
hear and answer these prayers even if I can spend only a few minutes asking
these requests.
I occasionally read the rest of the prayer journal, sometimes the complete journal, and
sometimes just a section here or there. I find that the other sections have been
very helpful in causing a big increase in my faith. One of the things I also have
felt is an increasing excitement as I have begun to really believe that God does hear
these prayers, and I believe He has every intention of answering them.
I hope this explanation has been helpful. I would not want you to feel in any way
that the idea of praying for our descendants is something that would be too
overwhelming for the average busy person to be able to accomplish because
of time constraints. I know God will richly bless you, as He has blessed me, as you
too, begin praying for your descendants for a thousand generations, to the
end of time. God is faithful.
