GARDEN PARTY 2005
A MYSTERY

I went to a garden party, to reminisce with my old friends and to introduce to my dear garden friends the newest member coming to join them as one of the backyard menagerie. "So ladies and gentlemen please give a very warm welcome to Mr. Timothy B. Schmit."
"Is it just me or do you feel like humming, too?"

"Mr. Timothy B. who?", exclaimed Miss Blue Bird.

Mr. Timothy B. Schmit
Welcome to our Backyard!

Walker weeping peashrub and bunny and shadow

Bunny had heard about Timothy and she wondered if it was really safe to be in the backyard now. She had the feeling she was being watched with possible ill intent.

Shadow had no comment, but then she
never did.

Moon over my backyard

With the moon rising over the backyard, night was surely not far behind. What would the outcome be? Would the fears of Bunny and Mr. Chicken be realized? Or would Don Bluebird's thoughts of paradise in the backyard prove to be prophetic?

And who was Timothy really?

Blue heron weather vane

"Ah", said Mr. Blue Heron,
"at last, finally a friends
of a feather kind of guy."

Squirel on fence

"Nice long hair. Who's your barber?"

Child with bird, statue

"Take it easy", said Baby Sweet to his little pet bird, " I'm sure Timothy will be our good friend."

Chicken decoration

"Gentleman, good to be wit cha.
Hope I'm wit cha all night". (Had Mr. Little Chicken been talking with Bunny? Did he also have an uneasy, not very peaceful feeling that perhaps he wouldn't make it through the night?) "Oh, mama, help me".

Small dapper bird hanging around

As Don H. Bluebird surveyed the backyard he sighed a contented sigh thinking, "now that Timothy is here, this truly is paradise. It's even a bit like a hotel in a sunny climate or a Hawaiian resort. I just hope it stays this way forever".
